In the heart of the Mantua plain, in Palidano di Gonzaga, Rota Guido has built a large new cattle shed for Fienilnuovo Srl, intended for the production of milk for Parmigiano Reggiano.

With a three-hinged arch structure measuring 252 x 45 metres and a total surface area of approximately 12,000 m², it is one of the largest cattle sheds in Italy.

The facility houses 10 milking robots, integrated into a layout designed to ensure maximum production efficiency, animal welfare and environmental sustainability.

This major project consolidates the partnership between Fienilnuovo and Rota Guido, setting a benchmark for modern Italian livestock farming: a functional, bright and technologically advanced environment, designed to enhance the local area and the entire Parmigiano Reggiano sector.

To complete the livestock centre, Rota Guido has built two adjacent calf houses, each measuring 40 x 13 metres, with eight multi-calf pens, giving a total capacity of 120 calves per building.
Each pair of pens houses two automatic feeding stations – one for milk and one for dry feed – to promote steady growth and nutritional independence from the earliest stages of life.

A covered service corridor and an optimised gate system ensure quick and safe management operations, whilst the central wall acts as a sanitary barrier.
The new calf houses complete a state-of-the-art livestock centre that is functional, efficient and fully integrated into the Mantua area.
