The new complex covers an area of 15,000 m² and comprises two separate cattle houses, dedicated respectively to first-calf heifers and multiparous cows, to ensure optimal management tailored to different production requirements.

• First-calf barn: areas dedicated to steaming up, infirmary, calving pens and production training with 2 milking robots.
• Parity cows’ barn: over 460 lactating cows with 8 milking robots, an automatic feed preparation and distribution system, and a smart cooling system that activates cooling only when an animal is present.

The new barns at Cingia De Botti, owned by the Federici family, have been built in accordance with the very latest design and management criteria.

Particular attention has been paid to calf management, with two areas dedicated to the weaning phase:

• one for calves aged 0–20 days, with raised single-cell pens, a central canopy, cooling and automatic cleaning via a flushing system, and individual Calf Rail feeding, up to 8 feedings per day;
• one for group weaning, with 5 floor-level pens equipped with automatic feeders
