Rest is a crucial phase for the health, development and well-being of calves from the very first days of life. Rota Guido designs and manufactures individual and group pens that ensure optimal conditions in terms of space, hygiene and comfort.
INDIVIDUAL BOX
Individual spaces for well-being
In the first few weeks, calves need a safe, hygienic and comfortable environment – all of which are guaranteed by Rota Guido’s individual pens, which ensure:
- Individual space (at least 1.8 m²) to prevent competition and disturbance;
- Dry bedding thanks to a slatted floor and continuous drainage;
- Peace and quiet with walls that provide privacy yet allow visual contact with peers;
- A stable microclimate (10–15°C) for undisturbed rest in every season.
Twin Box
From individual rest to shared rest
The Twin Box is designed to offer calves a resting area that combines comfort with ease of management for the farmer. It allows calves to start with individual rest, before transforming into a space for pairs, encouraging socialisation without compromising the calf’s peace of mind. It has been designed to provide calves with:
- Advanced resting: from individual (3 m²) to pairs (6 m²) thanks to the removable partition;
- Well-being and socialisation: spacious areas and a calm environment for balanced growth
- Optimal microclimate: fan jets and closure systems that maintain fresh air and consistent quality, with an enhanced air volume of 15 m³ per animal – five times higher than traditional solutions
- Biosecurity: ‘all-empty–all-full’ management and easy bedding cleaning
Group box
Quiet environments for adaptation
During the post-weaning phase (2–6 months), calves need quiet environments that help them adapt to dietary and social changes without disrupting their rest. Rota Guido group pens offer:
- ample space (minimum 4 m² per animal) to lie down and move about freely;
- quiet, well-ventilated environments with a controlled microclimate for undisturbed sleep;
- homogeneous groups and static management, which avoid stress caused by moving;
- comfortable bedding and constant hygiene, to safeguard health and well-being.
