ENERGY FLOWS WITH THE NET FOR A PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT
P = energy generated by the photovoltaic plant (incentivated energy)
E = energy taken from the net
U = energy produced by the photovoltaic plant and immitted in the net
C = energy consumed by the users
M1 = meter of the energy generated by the photovoltaic plant
M2 = bidirectional meter of the energy exchanged with the net
Energetic balance of the system (referred to a given period of time)
U – E = P – C
If the electric system includes the photovoltaic plant connected to the net and also users that consume energy, it is
necessary to have 2 or 3 meters. The first one for the report and registration of the measure referred to the total energy
produced by the photovoltaic plant (M1) and a second bidirectional or double meter (M2) for the collection and
registration of the measure concerning the energy exchanged (immitted and/or taken from) with the net to which the plant is connected.
During the night or when the photovoltaic plant, for any reason, is not in production, E = C that is, all the energy
consumed by the users is taken from the net.
When the photovoltaic plant is in production, we can have two different cases:
1. P > C
In this case the balance is positive, as it is a sale of energy to the net
2. P < C
In this case the balance is negative, as it is an extraction from the net.
The dispositions of the Authority in charge for the measure are focused on the installation of meters for the collection and distribution of the hour measure to the operator by telematic transmission (both for the immitted energy and the energy taken).
SALE OF THE ENERGY PRODUCED
For the sale of the energy produced by the photovoltaic plant there are two different methods:
1. "indirect" through the stipulation of a collection convention with GSE, according to the resolution AEEG n. 280/07;
2. "direct" through the sale on the Stock Market or to a wholesaler (bilateral contract).
