The solutions to different shelters for the pig-farmings may be various and highly diversified. This is not simply a consequence of the different productive typologies (closed-cycle or opened-cycle farmings for the rearing of piglets or fattening pigs, for slaughter or for industry), but it is mainly a result of the different zootechnical approaches employed. Anyway, every different solution has to weigh the planning standards listed below: pigs size, food requirements, water needs, live weight of the whole piggery, defecations produced, number of places to be arranged for in the zootechnical centre, diverse farming areas.
